Hints on Picking out an Online Publishing Package Vendor

Filed under: Web Portal @ 9:32 pm

It’s distressingly simple to wreck even the most creative digital magazine, no matter what energy has been put into it, with a low grade of electronic magazine package. When you’ve chosen to make an online publication the key decision is to select the software vendor. Setting the format for your message is just a little part of their job.

Being simple to use is an essential part of the package to look out for. After all, it doesn’t matter how brilliant the package is if you yourself can’t do anything with it. Ahead of you deciding on a provider for your electronic magazine, make time to test it. In creating an online magazine you also have to think about security. Are there measures placed to protect your account? What about the content? Is it possible for people to simply copy-paste the magazine content or has the flash software supplier anything in place peventing such things? Is the content secure?

Has a marketing plan been created yet? Whatever marketing strategy you come up with, you should think about such things – maybe not for each individual issue but rather for your company overall. What use will you make of modern media? What consideration has been made of treating ads? Selling the interactive journal will probably need search engine optimized content. When producing an online magazine, you’ll be dealing with former issues. Is your interactive publication going to be generally accessible? Hosting directly with the supplier is a sensible idea if it’s going to be easily available. Teasers and summaries work well to advertise the ebrochure. Prior to striking an emergency you need to think about some things, too. Namely: technical support. Is it simple a matter of a page of FAQs? Do they feature a how-to guide? Do they publish their response time? Try calling their hotline to test it out. Tech-support’s importance can’t be over-estimated. Because you really don’t want to discover the hard way that they’re actually not up to par…

When you’ve resolved on creating a digital publication such as an electronic magazine, choosing the right digital publishing software hosting service will determine the whole profit of the business. Decide thoughtfully, and you’ll be rewarded well.

Something for You to Look into – Web Content Management Companies

Filed under: Software Hall, Web Portal @ 8:19 pm

The late 90s saw companies start using the internet to expand their range and sell their products, an expansion assisted by web content management systems (WCM). Existing WCM systems are operated alongside other programs, thus ensuring there will be no reduction in the work rate. Nevertheless, to match up with the market leaders in your circle, even the market leader WCM system has to fulfill 5 key functions. Firstly it is essential to realize what is expected of good website content management software. The content, be it unprocessed or structured, is acquired and grouped by the CMS. Its next step is to calibrate the content to suit office workers as well as remote authorized visitors. The work flow of a WCM must be regular and flexible. Apart from the power to produce and process information, you should also be able to to edit and resubmit it. Conceive of the process as being like the input section in blog software.

Once the information is deployed on the server, the system needs to display it ensuring that it is as fully intact and complete as possible. Ensure that your web content management system can deal with unique characteristics like proprietary software and/or files, alternate configurations to name but a few. Be aware, however, that the WCM has to be able to do more than simply prepare the necessary info. What we are looking for is the info to be re-coded into web page format. All of this amounts to being able to read computer programming and upmark languages such as CSS, HTML, PHP, XML and more, making that info readable using the appropriate means.

State-of-the-art security for your network is paramount. It can encompass maintaining the security of the appropriate info and making it accessible only to members of staff including approved third party surfers. The Sharepoint CMS always receives top marks in the accumulating, preparation and dissemination of the raw data. So to wrap this up: if the goal is to increase the efficiency of how your business manages its time, we recommend the Sharepoint CMS; for a protected database, integration and collation. You really could not select a better product.

Picking out a Digital Publishing Host

Filed under: Publishing Management, Web Portal @ 1:18 pm

Spoiling even the best digital catalog is too easy, no matter how much energy you’ve put into it, with low-grade digital magazine software. In fact, picking out a software provider is one of the most important decisions you’ll take when you produce digital publication. This isn’t a case of just picking some nice format for your magazine – indeed this decision is essential as it may mean success or failure for your overall venture.

Amongst the features you should liik into closely, ease of use is the most important. If you can’t make the software work it doesn’t make any difference how good it is being touted to be. Before choosing a supplier for the ezine, be certain to test it. Further major considerations you need to make are safeguarding security. Next in line to think about are spammers. What measures are taken protecting your magazine? What does the digital publishing software provider have in place which prevents people copy-pasting the content?

You’ll also want to consider interactive collateral management to properly promote your digital magazine. No matter which model you use you should think about what role networking media will play. Search engine friendly content could also be essential as you consider marketing your ezine.

When creating an online publication, you’ll be dealing with back editions. Is your online catalog going to be publically available? Direct hosting with the supplier likely makes sense if it’s going to be easily available. Will content summaries be shared to help spread the word about the online newsletter? Before having to address them in earnest, you should think about some more things. How do you gauge their tech support? Check the FAQs. Do they feature a how-to guide? Do they advertise any response time? How well manned is their tech-support line? This is definitely a case of last-not-least consideration. Your decision now will be what will decide if your publication goes well or not – think very carefully before picking out your host. Search Bing with the term “Zmags” to find further useful pointers.

Appia Foresees the Growth of Virtual Call Centers

Filed under: Technometer, Web Portal @ 4:46 am

For Appia Communications, the call center industry is decentralizing. The managed communication and networking services provider recently reported that its clients are starting to deploy the so-called ‘virtual’ call centers. In this setup, agents are situated in small offices or at home instead of the traditional call centers.
Being able to locate supervisors and agents anywhere brings significant cost savings as far as operating expenses are concerned, says Appia president Victor von Schlegell. Companies get to save on office rent as well as commute costs and time. But there are also other soft and hard advantages that flexibility decentralization offers. For instance, it allows call center managers to hire the right people for the job regardless of their physical location. This makes it even easier to schedule resources to meet various requirements. Von Schlegell also added that this flexibility is actually one of the many advantages of using a managed service.
He explained that one of the reasons why their clients can move in this direction is due to the implementation of a managed approach to call center technology. When you host technology in the cloud, you don’t have to worry about where your supervisors and agents are located so long as there are connected to the internet.
However, von Schlegell also warns users against the use of a dispersed staff without putting a robust internal communication system in place.
One challenge of decentralization is making sure that everyone is on the same pace. This can be a serious problem if you don’t have the right tools and a good private cloud.

The Elottery System Secures a Lotto Prize to Every Last Player in the El Gordo Lottery

Filed under: Web Portal @ 4:17 am

The Elgordo Loteria is a part of the Euromillions Euro lottery, but if you don’t know anymore than that you should really get to learn more. Boasting one of the largest jackpots on the planet, this simple game of hazard offers pots that are known to run up to two point six billion Euros. Yet this isn’t all. There is even more you will want to know . With over thirteen thousand prizes available your odds of winning something work out to around one in every six. Pretty good if you hold it against what competing lotteries can pay out!

In the Euromillions Euro lottery one draw is held every month. But three months a year play host to special draws for even bigger prizes. The special drawings are held in January, summer, and at Christmas: in order, these are El Nio, San Ildefonso & Elgordo.

Unlike typical lottery systems, the Elgordo Lottery uses balls with five digits printed on each in a range from 00,000 to 84,999. Two bowls are employed, with one used in determining the winning number, the second the amount.

To enter the lottery, one choice is a full ticket, known as a “serie”. Or, you can choose a more affordable option called a “d©cimo”, which is worth one tenth of a full ticket. Sadly, both these choices are comparatively costly ways to play and neither will boost your prospects of winning anyway. That’s why many people playing the Euromillions Euro lottery instead use the e-lottery scheme.

Everyone’s guaranteed to win a prize if they participate in the e-lottery system. You are automatically pooled into a team when you buy in with the El Gordo Lottery syndicate. These teams are assigned an identifying number from 1-9, the last number on the winning ball in the draw being used to identify the team which wins the money. This money is divided equally among the members. Then, everyone renews their subscription for the draw the following month and the cycle begins again.

It is common to feel some concern about whether it’s worth sharing the payoffs. But when you stop to think how much more than two and a half billion Euros is actually worth, there’s still plenty to go around. As you’re guaranteed to win once a month, the syndicate is both less of a worry and more affordable. There isn’t any better return…

What You Should Know about Domain Registration and Web Site Hosting

Filed under: Web Portal @ 3:27 pm

Making a decision on a suitable domain name and picking out the right registration are the initial items to look at when you are launching a Web site. But this can be a somewhat bewildering decision to have to make. Because while you are wrestling to determine the best provider you will most likely realize that investigating the company via reviews is the best step.

When you are going through domain hosting reviews, how to determine what is helpful and what isn’t? As is the case with any other business decision, you have to decide which characteristics are significant for your Web site. Going for the same provider to host your Web site and register your domain name is a popular choice. Service is something which may affect your Web site long after your domain is registered.

It’s sensible not to depend upon a review which only appears on the hosting provider’s Web site. It is essential to get an impartial opinion before you make a choice. You should make an effort to read as many reviews as possible and give some thought to the customers’ comments. Do you come across any problems repeated more frequently than you would expect? Which reviews illustrate any advantages of the company? Do positive reviews outweigh the bad reviews?

Of course, you will read good and bad comments. Stay objective and read any info you can get your hands on. No doubt, pricing has to be taken into account, but it’s absolutely essential to get the best bang for your buck. Here are a few questions to investigate when trying to find which provider to go with.

During which times of day do the company offer client support? Is there a toll-free number, can you see any evidence that they respond quickly to any complaints or queries? What is their guaranteed system uptime? Can they ensure that it’ll be >99%? How much bandwidth will be accessible to you? You can negotiate a package with unlimited hosting and bandwidth, occasionally they also include bonuses for example computer software to help run your Web site, vouchers redeemable for pay-per-click campaigns, and rebates on further domain names. Do they offer an uncomplicated way to pay? Will payments be set up automatically, or could you pay monthly? In the case of a server failure, what will happen? Your responses to these questions are pivotal to your Web site.

Ultimately this is an individual decision, all the same, before you decide, be sure you have researched all the options. Taking a look at applicable domain hosting reviews can be the savviest approach that is certain to save time and effort.

How To Choose Your Next Website Developer

Filed under: Online Templates Resources, Web Portal @ 1:55 am

If you’re wishing to launch a website, you need to find a web design company who can build your site for you. In deciding who to choose, you ought to consider one important issue: do I need a bespoke website or a website template?

Tell me exactly, what is the differences between bespoke and template sites?

A website template uses already-developed code, and you then either form your requirements around how the website template functions, or the website template can be adjusted to meet your requirements more accurately. A bespoke website is tailor-made for you. You tell the website developer your needs, and they develop a site built exactly based on your needs.

Tell me the pros and cons of a website template

The advantages: A web template uses secure, sturdy, proven, and stable code, normally comes with free updates to the codebase, is very quick and easy to setup and go live with, and is going to be far cheaper than having a bespoke website developed.

The disadvantages: the website template may not precisely correspond to your requirements, even with amendments made. Can the web developer adjust the website template scripts, and if he can, how competently?

Tell me the advantages and disadvantages of a tailor-made website

The advantages: The site will be custom-made to match your requirements. As the website developer has constructed the site from scratch, he will have a close understanding of the codebase, which is a huge advantage compared to a template if the web designer doesn’t have a great deal of understanding of the template’s scripts.

The disadvantages : it is expensive, it takes time for a bespoke site to be prepared, and you’re taking a risk on whether the web designer is talented enough to guarantee your site is robust, secure, search-engine friendly and is accessible and usable to all people.

After selecting the type of website you require, you should then center on web hosting. Will the site use dedicated website hosting? Will it use shared hosting? Reliable website hosting is essential to your website. Concentrate also on back-ups – ensure your website information is backed-up on a day-to-day basis.

Asia’s Computer Dragon

Filed under: Technometer, Telecommunication Hall, Web Portal @ 12:17 pm

The 1970s and 1980s saw the boom of the computer industry. Huge personalities like Michael Dell, Bill Gates, and Steve Jobs established themselves in the computer world as corporate giants. And they all have one thing in common – they are Americans. Across the Pacific though, a Taiwanese was also set to make his mark in the domain of software and programs and anything that is computer – Stan Shih.

Born on December 8, 1944, Shih received his both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Electrical Engineering from the National Chiao Tung University. Together with his wife Carolyn Yeh and five others, they created Multitech in 1976, with Shih as CEO. Multitech was born out of Shih’s concept that microchips could change the computer landscape. Prior to the forming of Multitech, Shih was the first person ever to design, develop, and successfully market Taiwan’s first desktop calculator while working at the Unitron Industrial Corp.

Shih’s business approach was founded on his firm belief in the “goodness of human nature.” During Multitech’s budding years, this belief was clearly illustrated when Shih offered stock ownership options to all employees. In 1987, Multitech was renamed to Acer.

Shih’s business formula was to get supplies from different sources. With this methodology, Shih’s company was able to manufacture superb computers using components from a tight line of varying suppliers, resulting in Acer enjoying a cheaper production scheme.

Eventually, Shih decided that Acer should go global and compete with Dell, IBM, and Compaq. Upon his retirement in 2004, Acer ranked #4 PC vendor and #3 power notebook vendor in terms of models distributed worldwide.

Stan Shih was profiled by Time Magazine.

Other technology leaders such as Richard Li are profiled on Leaders in Technology.

In this inteview of Richard Li, Mr. Li shares his vision for Pacific Century Cyberworks.

Mobile Broadband will soon be the key to the Future of Internet

Filed under: Web Portal @ 6:21 pm

Mobile broadband has been announced as the trendiest discovery in the internet world that is the turning point to the future of internet. Recently, high speed internet was available via a basic phone line, Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line cable, which links to a PC terminal via an ADSL modem or router. Wireless high speed connection will be increasingly spread, whereby the Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line modem is connected to the terminal via a wireless intranet, and internet surfers are getting rid of ADSL cables. However mobile broad-band is taking things one step further and offering another innovative idea in the developing of internet connectivity; a broadband line pretty much in all the house without the use of a traditional landline cable.

The idea of browsing internet using a reliable broadband connection at home is an attractive concept to many internet users, like those people who more and more connect to internet with their PCs away from home. Business people for example who usually travel for work are the main obvious target for mobile high speed internet since they will surely enjoy the idea of not having to search at all for a working WI-FI hotspot for a proper internet connection. Mobile broad-band reaches much further than that, and because prices soon begin to decrease and connection lines increase we will soon see the majority of broad-band clientele applying for mobile high speed broadband.

Mobile high speed internet works by connecting a small portable modem to your personal computer, generally called a ‘dongle’, from where a PC is then able to browse the internet by using whichever mobile broad-band package the customers have registered for. Telecom companies are packaging mobile high speed internet connections and coverage of the networks, known as 3 G networks, which is as much as 90% of England.

Broad band speed is a serious issue with any broad band connection and mobile broad-band telecoms at the beginning had some problems to persuade clients that mobile internet connections could be as fast as conventional, landline-based high speed internet. Fast speed connections are improving, since Vodafone reporting mobile broad band lines as fast as 7.3mb, similar to some of the landline internet broadband. Most countries, including England, will soon finance with huge amount of money in fibre optic cable networks, in order improve broad-band speeds to up to 100 mb. Work without wires with mobile broadband from Compare Broadband UK.

In New Zealand, however, an important telecommunications supplier has claimed that mobile broad band networks are set to develop fast in the next future and they have said that mobile high speed connection will deliver speeds of up to 100mb by early 2011, which coincides with the year the UK’s fibre optic network is due to be finished. This could herald a major shift in industry thinking, with the creation of a reliable super fast mobile broadband connection network with obvious advantages over the cabling of thousands of miles of fibre optic cables, not least from a practical point of view.
